Armed Police Swarm Streatham Bus After Gun Scare

Chaos erupted at Streatham BR Station on Monday morning when police were called to a Route 159 bus over reports of a man carrying a firearm.

Suspect Arrested on Route 159 Bus

At 10:27am, armed officers from the Met Police swiftly boarded the bus and arrested a man on suspicion of firearm possession. Officers recovered what is believed to be an air rifle at the scene.

No Injuries as Situation Quickly Secured

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 10:27hrs on Monday, 16 September to a Route 159 bus near Streatham BR Station. Specialist firearms officers boarded the bus and arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A suspected air rifle was recovered. No reports of injuries have been made.”
