Armed Police Swarm Streatham Bus After Gun Scare
Chaos erupted at Streatham BR Station on Monday morning when police were called to a Route 159 bus over reports of a man carrying a firearm.
Suspect Arrested on Route 159 Bus
At 10:27am, armed officers from the Met Police swiftly boarded the bus and arrested a man on suspicion of firearm possession. Officers recovered what is believed to be an air rifle at the scene.
No Injuries as Situation Quickly Secured
Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident. The police spoke to witnesses and managed to bring the tense situation under control without any further problems.
Ongoing Investigation Underway
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 10:27hrs on Monday, 16 September to a Route 159 bus near Streatham BR Station. Specialist firearms officers boarded the bus and arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A suspected air rifle was recovered. No reports of injuries have been made.”
Police continue to investigate the incident as they piece together what happened onboard the bus that morning.
