Man Found Dead with Fatal Stab Wounds in Barnet – Police Launch Murder Probe
Violent Incident Sparks Major Police Operation
A brutal stabbing has rocked Barnet after a man was found dead with fatal injuries. Police were first called to Courtland Avenue, NW7, at 8.11pm on Thursday 19 December following reports of a fight in progress.
Despite an initial search, officers found no sign of the victim or suspects at the location.
Victim Discovered Hours Later Near Barnet Bypass
Shortly after, at 8.27pm, London Ambulance Service alerted police to a man in his 20s suffering stab wounds near Barnet Bypass, close to Scratchwood Park. The injured man received emergency treatment on scene before being rushed to hospital.
Second Man Found Dead Inside Car
During follow-up investigations, a 30-something man was discovered inside a car at the scene, also suffering from stab wounds. Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Homicide Unit Takes Over, Investigation Ongoing
Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime team have been called in. A crime scene remains active as enquiries continue to identify the victim’s next of kin and piece together the events leading to this deadly attack.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in due course.
