Boy rushed to hospital after breaking leg

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after breaking his leg whilst trying to access a school playing field in Lake on the Isle of Wight. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was also called to the incident following the boys fall. After a primary assessment by Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service called in the specialist Doctors on the air ambulance just after 6.15pm on Friday evening. The Isle of Wight fire and rescue service from Shanklin were also called so medics could gain access to boy who was trapped behind locked gates of Broadlea Primary School. The youngster has since been transported to St Mary’s hospital by land ambulance.
