Tragic Twist: Cowes Man Sami Benning Found Dead Hours Before His Release

Sami Benning, also known as Samuel Groves from Cowes on the Isle of Wight, was found dead in his prison cell just hours before he was due to walk free. The body was discovered Monday morning by staff at HM Prison Guys Marsh in Shaftesbury.

A Police spokesman confirmed: “We can confirm that a body was found this morning. It was a man in his cell. He died overnight and was found this morning.”

The Ministry of Justice added that the Prison Service Ombudsman will carry out a full investigation into the death. A post-mortem will be conducted this afternoon by a Home Office pathologist.
