Police in Dagenham have uncovered a cannabis factory following an operation in the area, leading to the arrest of one man.
The discovery was made during a targeted investigation, which revealed a significant cannabis-growing operation. Officers seized evidence of the cultivation of Class B drugs and found that electricity was being illegally extracted to power the factory.
A male suspect was arrested at the scene and is now facing charges for cultivation of cannabis, possession of Class B drugs, and the illegal extraction of electricity.
Authorities have confirmed that the premises has been secured, and the cannabis plants have been seized for destruction.
A police spokesperson said, “This discovery highlights the ongoing issue of illegal drug production in the area. We are committed to working with the community to disrupt these operations and bring those responsible to justice.”
