Thug Targets Disabled Man in Swindon Robbery

A disabled man was attacked and robbed in Swindon, and police have released CCTV footage of the suspect. The robbery happened just after 1pm on Saturday (07/08) on Inglesham Road, Penhill.

Victim Attacked and Left Injured

The victim, in his 40s and paralysed down his left side, uses a wheeled frame to get around. He fell to the ground after the suspect yanked a holdall bag from his shoulder. The man hit his head on concrete but miraculously didn’t need hospital treatment.

The stolen bag contained shopping, including boxes of cigarettes.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Swindon Police have been reviewing local CCTV footage and now want to identify the man caught on camera. PC Jamie Brown said:

“While we appreciate this image isn’t the clearest, we believe someone out there will recognise this man. The victim was very vulnerable and has been left shaken and upset.”
