Wheelchair User Threatened in Brazen Waterlooville Burglary – Rare Coin Collection Stolen
Hampshire police have launched an urgent appeal after a terrifying aggravated burglary in Waterlooville left a young wheelchair user robbed at knifepoint.
Knife-Wielding Thugs Raid Disabled Man’s Home
At around 5:10pm on Tuesday 26 February, a 28-year-old man unlocking his Milton Road home was shoved inside by two men. Armed with a knife, the pair threatened their victim but luckily left him unharmed.
Priceless Olympics and Beatrix Potter Coins Stolen
The attackers raided a distinctive coin collection, stealing rare Olympic-colour coins, a set of Beatrix Potter-themed coins, and a rose gold wedding ring before making off.
Police Descriptions of the Suspects
- Man 1: White, early 30s, 5ft 2in, slim build, dark brown hair, dirty teeth, black zip-up hoody, black tracksuit bottoms, spoke with local accent.
- Man 2: White, early 30s, 5ft 6in, medium build, blondish hair, dark blue or white jumper, blue jeans, local accent.
Police Appeal for Public Help
“The items taken during this aggravated burglary are very distinctive, please look at the photograph we’ve issued,” said DC Amanda Layton. “Has anyone offered you these coins?”
“Neighbourhood policing teams are out patrolling and delivering crime prevention leaflets. If you recognise the coins or saw anything suspicious, call 101 quoting 44190069766.”
So far, police say no similar crimes have been reported nearby, but they’re keeping a close eye on the area. Locals are urged to stay vigilant and report any information.
