Thieves Hit Elderly Shoppers in Broad Daylight Bank Card Thefts
Two pensioners had their bank cards snatched in separate daylight robberies right in the town centre on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Both crooks struck between 10.30 a.m. and 11.50 a.m. inside a busy Waitrose on the High Street.
Man Pushed on Escalator Before £2,000 Bank Card Theft
A man in his 80s was shoved over on an escalator but luckily escaped without injuries. The nasty surprise came later when he found out thieves had stolen his bank card. They quickly emptied his account of a whopping £2,000.
Distracted Woman’s Cards Stolen at Parking Meter
The second victim, an elderly woman, was targeted while using a parking meter. A crafty man distracted her, swiping her cards and draining hundreds of pounds from her accounts.
