Heartless Thieves Raid Home and Steal Late Mum’s Cherished Ashes
A Paulsgrove woman has been left shattered after ruthless burglars broke into her home and made off with the ashes of her late mother, stored in a precious crystal box.
Devastating Burglary in Deerhurst Crescent
The break-in happened late yesterday afternoon at a home on Deerhurst Crescent. While valuables and jewellery were stolen, the loss of the crystal containing her mum’s ashes has left the family distraught.
“I’m devastated. I’m appealing for that person to have the decency to return the ashes,” the heartbroken woman told reporters from her Paulsgrove home.
She explained the grief behind the theft: “It was just in a cardboard box, so maybe they thought it was something valuable – which it is to us, but to them, it’s worthless.”
Sentimental Treasures Stolen Alongside Ashes
The burglars forced entry by kicking in the rear UPVC door. In addition to the ashes, a stash of priceless jewellery was taken, including:
- Man’s Armani watch
- Woman’s Armani watch
- Tiffany ring and earrings
- Swarovski ring
- Diamond bracelet
- Charm bracelet
These items hold irreplaceable sentimental value, adding insult to this cruel crime.
Police Seek Help from the Public
Hampshire Police are urging anyone who spotted suspicious activity around Deerhurst Crescent at the time, or who is offered the stolen jewellery for sale, to come forward.
“It’s likely passers-by saw the fleeing raiders,” police said.
