Double stabbing horror in Islington – cops hunt witnesses!
Tragic killings on Elthorne Road
Detectives are scrambling for info after a brutal double stabbing in Islington shocked the community. Two men lost their lives in the violent attack on Thursday night, June 29, with a third victim critically injured but expected to survive.
Victims named, families devastated
Fifteen-year-old Leonardo Reid from Islington was found with fatal stab wounds by police at around 11.33pm on Elthorne Road. Despite emergency crews’ efforts, Leonardo died shortly after midnight.
A 23-year-old man was also found stabbed and rushed to a West London hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victims’ next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Investigation underway – man arrested and released
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, backed by Central North Command, is leading the probe. A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder on Saturday, July 1, but has since been released without further action.
Police plea: Step up and help
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood said, “We’re three days in and still need anyone who was near Elthorne Road on Thursday night to come forward. Two lives have been lost, and their families deserve answers. If you have information, please get in touch.”
Another man, around 28, was also stabbed at a nearby address and remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
