Woman Found Dead in River at Donkey Wood, Hounslow

Police were called just before noon on Tuesday, 20 December, after a body was spotted in a river at Donkey Wood off Staines Road, Hounslow. Officers soon recovered the body of a 61-year-old woman from Feltham. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Identity Confirmed, Family Informed

Though the woman has not been formally identified, police are confident about who she is. Her family has been notified and is receiving specialist support.

Death Treated as Unexpected, Investigation Ongoing

The case is being treated as unexplained and a crime scene remains in place while detectives launch a full investigation. A post-mortem examination will be carried out soon.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Thrower, West Area Command Unit, said:

“We are focused on uncovering the circumstances of this woman’s death. We know her family are grieving, and we’re committed to supporting them and answering their questions.

Our inquiries suggest the key timeline is Sunday, 18th or Monday, 19th December. The woman’s silver Ford Fiesta was found parked in Roman Close, Feltham, near Donkey Wood and Baber Bridge.

I urge anyone who saw this car arrive or was near Donkey Wood, especially around the River Crane, to come forward. Even if you think your information isn’t important, it could be vital to our investigation.
