76-Year-Old Man Brutally Assaulted on Nantwich Street
Police were called to a shocking late-night attack on Saturday, 5 November, just before midnight. Officers rushed to Gresty Road after reports of a serious assault.
Serious Injuries and Hospital Treatment
On arrival, officers found a 76-year-old man badly beaten. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. He remains in stable condition but suffered severe injuries, including two dislocated shoulders and a fractured neck.
Investigation Underway as Police Hunt Attackers
Detective Sergeant Angela Coppock revealed the victim was walking home from the British Lion pub on Nantwich Road with a friend when trouble began.
“The victim and his friend left the pub around 11.15pm and walked home via South Street and Gresty Road. During the walk, they were verbally abused by a group of three men and one woman. The pair ignored them and continued. They parted ways near the Mornflake Stadium car park at about 11.40pm. Shortly after, the victim was assaulted,” said Coppock.
Call for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Police are urging anyone who was in the Gresty Road or South Street area between 11.15pm and 11.45pm to come forward. Dashcam or CCTV footage from residents and local businesses could prove vital.
