Man and Woman Die in Shocking London Daytime Stabbing and Hit-and-Run
Tragedy struck on a busy London street on Monday morning. Police were called just after 9am to reports of a stabbing on Chippenham Road, W9. What officers found was grim: a 43-year-old woman with stab wounds and a 41-year-old man who had been hit by a car. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
A 26-year-old man, the driver of the vehicle that struck the man, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police believe the two victims knew each other, but say there are no known links between them and the suspect.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “This was a terrible incident that occurred in broad daylight on a busy London street. It also appears that a number of members of the public bravely tried to intervene to stop the attack.”
