Teen Found Dead in Barking Waterway – Police Launch Urgent Probe
Body Discovered Near Wivenhoe Road
Officers rushed to Stebbing Way, Barking, just after midday on Wednesday, 3 November, after reports of a body in a local waterway. Emergency crews, including police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade, arrived at the scene and recovered the body of a teenage boy. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the location.
Identity Known, Family Informed
Police believe they know who the boy is and have contacted his devastated family. Formal identification is pending, with a post mortem due to take place soon. Authorities are treating the death as unexplained and are hunting for answers.
Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Sean Treweek of the East Area Command Unit said: “We are working to understand how this young boy lost his life. His family are devastated and deserve answers.”
He urged anyone who was around Wivenhoe Road between the evening of Monday, 1 November, and midday on Wednesday, 3 November, to come forward. Even seemingly insignificant details could be crucial.
