Blackpool Murder Shocks New Year: Man Found Dead on Eccleston Road

Tragedy struck on New Year’s Day when 76-year-old Malcolm Frary was found dead at an Eccleston Road address. Police rushed to the scene shortly after 4.30pm on January 1, but sadly, Mr Frary was pronounced dead.

Two Men Arrested as Murder Probe Intensifies

Following a Home Office post mortem, detectives confirmed Mr Frary’s death is being treated as murder. Two Blackpool men, aged 51 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody as police dig deeper into the case.

Crucial Clues: Camouflage Jacket & Green Phone Sought

Detectives are urgently hunting for a camouflage-style jacket and a green Redmi 9 mobile phone, possibly in a case. These items could shed light on what happened to Mr Frary. Authorities believe they were discarded somewhere in Blackpool between 6pm on New Year’s Eve and 6pm on January 2.

Police Appeal for Witnesses in South Shore Areas

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson urged anyone who saw suspicious activity near Eccleston Road, Harris Street, Horncliffe Road, or Woodstock Gardens on December 31 or January 1 to come forward.

“First and foremost my thoughts remain with Mr Frary’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. Although we have made two arrests, our investigation is ongoing,” said Det Ch Insp Wilson.

“We need the public’s help to find these items and piece together the tragic events. Any information provided will be treated in confidence.”
