Man Arrested After Young Dad Fatally Stabbed Near Fairfield Road
A 25-year-old man was arrested today, Monday 17 October, suspected of helping an offender linked to a fatal stabbing on Fairfield Road. He remains in police custody.
Tragic Attack on Fairfield Road
Police rushed to Fairfield Road just before 10:20pm on Thursday 13 October after a man was found with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, Michael died at the scene.
Michael is believed to have been attacked on Fairfield Road before staggering to a nearby pub garden at Fairfield East where patrons offered aid and called emergency services.
Murder Investigation Underway
A post-mortem at Kingston Mortuary on Saturday 15 October confirmed stab wounds as the cause of death. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the murder probe.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Our investigation continues with the arrest of a man, but we still urgently need to speak to anyone with information about Thursday evening’s attack. If you witnessed anything – no matter how small – please come forward.”
“My thoughts are very much with this young man’s family and friends.”
