Teenager Stabbed to Death in Brent – Police Seek Car and Van Driver Witness
Detectives hunting for answers in the murder of 16-year-old Drekwon Patterson in Brent have issued a desperate public appeal. They want info on a suspicious car linked to the killing and a van driver who stopped nearby – both could hold vital clues.
Murder Scene and Victim Details
Police were called just after 11.30pm on Thursday, 18 February, to reports of a boy stabbed on Preston Road, Brent. The victim, Drekwon Patterson from Wembley, was rushed to hospital but sadly died before 9am the next day despite emergency efforts.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, leading the probe, said: “We have been working tirelessly to uncover what happened and catch those responsible.”
Key Clues: Burnt-Out Ford Mondeo and Van Driver
Officers believe a black Ford Mondeo, registration YR54 NHN, is crucial. CCTV shows the car speeding away from the scene, before it was found burnt out in Silver Jubilee Park, NW9, on Friday 19 February.
DCI Leonard revealed: “This car was involved in an attempt to injure Drekwon by collision on Preston Road. After being hit, Drekwon ran but was chased by four suspects who fatally stabbed him.”
Police want to know who drove and used this old, large vehicle in the days before the murder. It may have looked out of place or been parked suspiciously. Any sightings, behaviour, or knowledge could be a game changer.
The van driver who briefly stopped near the scene is also urged to come forward. Their eyewitness account might be critical.
