Fugitive Couple Nabbed After Beating Disabled Man

A wanted duo who robbed a disabled man have finally been caught. Kirsty Norris, 32, and David Mercer, 25, both from Queensway, Brighton, were originally handed two-year suspended sentences in October last year for robbery and FIVE counts of fraud.

Sentences Toughened After Solicitor General Steps In

But thanks to the Solicitor General’s intervention, the Court of Appeal slammed them with immediate three-year jail terms. They were ordered to surrender to police by 6pm on Thursday, March 12 — but they vanished instead.

Cops Track Down Runaways in Crawley

Police launched a hunt and issued a public appeal to find the pair. Their search ended on Tuesday, 31 March, when officers arrested them in Crawley. Norris and Mercer now face serving their full sentences behind bars.
