Ex-PCSO Jailed for Sexual Threat Letter

Mohammed Miah, a former Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), has been handed a 14-month prison sentence for sending a chilling sexual threat to a woman. The 27-year-old delivered the letter by hand to the victim’s home while off-duty on April 9, 2022. The note warned her life would be “ruined” if she didn’t perform a sexual act.

Police Act Fast – Miah Arrested and Suspended

Leicestershire Police moved quickly after receiving the report. Miah was arrested just six days later. At first, he denied any involvement and was released pending further inquiries. However, he was promptly suspended from duty during the ongoing investigation.

During a December 8 interview, Miah finally confessed. He admitted delivering the threatening letter and misusing police computers to snoop on the victim and her associates.

Resigns and Pleads Guilty at Leicester Magistrates’ Court

Following his confession, Miah quit the police force the next month. In April, he pleaded guilty to sending a threatening letter under the Malicious Communications Act and three counts of misusing force computers under the Computer Misuse Act.

Chief Constable Slams “Disgraceful” Conduct

Chief Constable Rob Nixon condemned Miah’s behaviour as “disgraceful” and insisted such conduct has no place in the force. He vowed Miah’s actions will not be tolerated and confirmed internal misconduct proceedings will follow the court case.

Leicestershire Police maintain a zero-tolerance stance on abuse of power and are committed to upholding the highest standards.
