Hit-and-Run in Silvertown Leaves E-Scooter Rider Hurt
A man in his 20s is in hospital after a hit-and-run crash involving his electric scooter and a car in East London’s Silvertown.
The smash happened at around 1:15 AM on Saturday, May 24, near the busy junction of North Woolwich Road and Silvertown Way (E16).
Driver Flees Scene Leaving Victim Injured
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the driver failed to stop after the collision. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the injured man was quickly taken to hospital.
A police spokesperson said the victim’s injuries were “not life-threatening” and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Police Hunt for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers are now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash to come forward.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 20s injured,” a Met Police spokesperson said. “He was on an electric scooter when he collided with a car, which failed to stop at the scene.”
No arrests have been made so far.
