Eleven Arrested in Major County Lines Drug Bust Across Enfield and Tottenham
Police swooped on 11 homes in Enfield and Tottenham on Tuesday, 28 July, nabbing 11 suspects in a crackdown on drug supply networks.
Crackdown Targets Ruthless County Lines Gangs
The arrests strike at County Lines operations funneling drugs from London to Norwich. Detective Sergeant Dave Kearney from the Met’s Specialist Crime North said: “The Met is still very heavily focused on stopping county lines routes, and it is arrests like these that help us to dismantle organised networks that are using young and vulnerable people to peddle their drugs into the counties.”
He added: “Extreme violence and the supply of drugs in and out of London go hand-in-hand. By shutting down County Lines routes and those who control them, we will hit violent crime hard.”
Seized: Class A Drugs, Machetes, and Hydraulic Press
The suspects, all men aged 17 to 27, face drugs supply charges and are in custody at London police stations.
During searches, officers recovered large amounts of Class A drugs, a hydraulic press used to package drugs, and machetes. The Territorial Support Group and Dog Unit backed up the raids.
Public Help Key to Cracking Down on Crime
DS Kearney urged locals to keep feeding police vital info: “Officers use information, often provided by the public, to build these operations and arrest criminals who are breaking the law and causing misery to so many. “We continue to ask the public to provide us with any information on any form of criminality they are aware of within their communities and neighbourhoods.”
