Teenager Hospitalised After E-Bike and Car Collision in Eltham

An 18-year-old man has been hospitalised following a collision between an e-bike and a car on Bexley Road in Eltham, southeast London.

The incident occurred just before 4.45pm on Friday, 27 June, at the junction with Alderwood Road, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

Severe Injuries But Not Life-Threatening

Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics attended the scene and found the teenage e-bike rider seriously injured. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were described as severe but not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Car Driver Spoken To, E-Bike Seized

The driver of the car involved in the collision remained at the scene and was spoken to by police. The e-bike was seized as part of the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.

Police Appeal

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 16:44hrs on Friday, 27 June to reports of a road traffic collision between an e-bike and a car on Bexley Road, SE9 at the junction with Alderwood Road.
Officers attended and an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with severe injuries. They are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The driver of the car was spoken to at the scene. There have been no arrests.
The e-bike has been seized.”
