Bomb Scare in New Forest Ends in False Alarm
Emergency Crews Rush to Southampton Yacht Club
Southampton coastguard search and rescue and Hampshire Police were scrambled to the New Forest on Friday evening after a shocking suspected ordnance find.
A member of the public spotted the suspicious object near the Beaulieu River and immediately called the police, prompting a rapid emergency response just after 7.30pm.
Suspicious Cylinder Turns Out to Be Harmless
The object measured around ten inches in diameter and was cylinder-shaped, raising alarms among authorities and locals alike.
However, after a thorough inspection by the coastguard team, the feared explosive was declared a false alarm, much to everyone’s relief.
