Mother and Daughter Found Stabbed to Death in Brookside South
Police and paramedics rushed to a Brookside South address at 1.37pm on Tuesday, June 21, after a chilling emergency call from the London Ambulance Service.
Officers, joined by London Air Ambulance crews, discovered a 37-year-old woman and a girl believed to be five years old with fatal stab wounds. Both mother and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested as Murder Probe Launched
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have swooped on a 37-year-old man, arresting him on suspicion of murder. Authorities confirmed the deceased and the suspect knew each other.
Community in Shock, Police Appeal for Witnesses
“The whole community will be shocked and saddened to hear of this terrible incident,” said Chief Superintendent Sara Leach, North West policing commander. “Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and first responders who faced an extremely dangerous scene.”
Specialist detectives are piecing together what happened. Chief Supt Leach added: “There’s no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved. We urge anyone who saw or heard anything unusual to come forward. Your information could be vital.”
