Man Arrested Over Shocking Double Murder
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder investigation. A 37-year-old man, who knew the victims, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“The whole community will be shocked and saddened to hear of this terrible incident,” said Chief Superintendent Sara Leach, policing commander for North West London, including Barnet.
“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the woman and child who died, as well as the officers and paramedics who arrived at what was an extremely dangerous scene.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detectives are keeping an open mind about the circumstances but reassure locals that there is no evidence of anyone else being involved at this time.
“I’d encourage anyone who witnessed or heard anything unusual earlier today or in recent days to contact police. Your information could be crucial,” Chief Superintendent Leach added.
