Met Police Arrest Man in Surrey Terror Sting

Early this morning, the Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Command swooped in north Surrey. At around 5.40am on Wednesday, 19 August, they arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Planned Operation Without Firearms

This wasn’t a chaotic shootout. The arrest was part of a carefully planned operation and carried out without any help from armed officers.

Ongoing Search and Custody

The suspect is now held at a South London police station. Meanwhile, counter terrorism officers are still searching a property in north Surrey as the investigation unfolds.
