Drunk Driver Arrested After Multi-Vehicle Crash in Beckenham

A man was arrested last night on suspicion of drunk driving following a crash involving a van and several other vehicles on Beckenham High Street.

Crash Sparks Police Action at 9.15pm

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 9.15pm on Thursday, April 17, after reports of a collision. Metropolitan Police officers quickly arrested the driver at the site, suspecting he was under the influence of alcohol.

No Injuries But Traffic Chaos Ensues

Despite multiple vehicles being involved, police confirmed no one was hurt. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“On Thursday, 17 April at 21:15hrs, police were called to Beckenham High Street following reports of a road traffic collision between a van and multiple vehicles. Officers attended the scene and arrested a man on suspicion of drunk driving. He remains in custody. There were no injuries.”

The crash caused temporary traffic disruption, but all roads have since reopened.
