Tragic Hit-and-Run Horror in Reading: Pedestrian Dies After Bus Collision

Thames Valley Police are urgently hunting witnesses after a fatal smash between a bus and a pedestrian in Reading late last night.

Fatal Crash on Great Knolly’s Street

At around 11.45pm on October 20, a 51-year-old man from Reading was struck by a bus on Great Knolly’s Street. Despite emergency efforts, he died instantly at the scene. His family have been informed.

The bus driver stopped immediately and was unharmed. There were no passengers on board at the time.

Road Closures and Police Investigation

Emergency teams closed the road overnight, reopening it around 4am today. Roads Policing officers are leading a full investigation into what caused the collision.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“We want anyone who saw the crash or either the pedestrian or bus before the collision to get in touch,” said Sergeant Andrew Fordyce from the Joint Operations Unit at Three Mile Cross.
