Speeding Mercedes Crash in Sheffield Kills Man in His 40s
A deadly crash rocked Retford Road, Sheffield, late last night. At around 11:05pm, a black Mercedes sped through Handsworth when disaster struck.
Mercedes Hits Parked Cars After Passing Police
The car was racing past a police vehicle heading the other way near Furnace Lane. As the police car turned, the Mercedes smashed into two parked cars. The driver, a man in his 40s, was killed instantly at the scene, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.
Police Refer Themselves to Watchdog After Crash
Authorities revealed the Mercedes was “travelling at speed” near the junction. South Yorkshire Police have launched an internal investigation and referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
“A mandatory referral has been made to the force’s Professional Standards Department and the Independent Office of Police Conduct,” the force said.
