Murder Probe Launched After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Dagenham

Police have opened a murder investigation after a man was fatally injured in a shocking hit-and-run in Dagenham. The incident happened late on Sunday, 13 September, in a car park on Whalebone Lane South.

Man, 47, Dies at Scene After Being Hit by Car

Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene at 11.34pm following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car. A 47-year-old man was found seriously hurt but sadly died shortly after.

Detectives say the vehicle involved fled the scene. A post-mortem is planned, and efforts to find the victim’s next of kin are underway.

Cops Appeal for Witnesses as No Arrests Made

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley said: “We believe the victim was deliberately harmed and we are treating this incident as a murder inquiry. We need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.”
