Bus Bandits Jailed for Targeting Elderly London Pensioners
Two thieves who preyed on pensioners aboard London buses have finally been brought to justice. Kristian Dolinski, 43, was slammed with a hefty three years and nine months behind bars. His partner in crime, David Glowacki, 33, got off with a suspended 15-month sentence.
Gang Carried Out Dozens of Thefts on London Buses
Both men pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court after a Met Police investigation. Dolinski admitted to 21 theft offences, while Glowacki confessed to helping in three. The crimes happened between May and September 2019 across north and west London buses.
Their victims were vulnerable pensioners, mostly in their 70s and 80s. One victim was a 93-year-old woman. The pair chose the elderly because they posed little risk of being caught or defended against.
Sharp-Bladed Thief Steals Precious Items and Sentimental Keepsakes
Dolinski used a sharp blade to cut bags and pockets while sitting or standing close to his victims. The stolen haul included purses, wallets, and mobile phones. Some items held huge sentimental value, like a Catholic Rosary blessed by the Pope and photos of deceased relatives stored on phones.
The judge branded the duo ‘cunning’ for their calculated targeting of innocent pensioners to feed their Class A drug addictions.
Police Praise Thorough Investigation and Proactive Justice
“Dolinski and Glowacki were caught after a painstaking police investigation using a mix of modern electronic surveillance and old-school community policing,” said PC Noël Thompson of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command Proactive Team.
“The long sentence shows the hard work put in with the CPS following the arrests. We’re very happy with the court outcome.”
London’s bus pensioners can breathe easier now that these ruthless thieves are off the streets.
