Man Arrested After Police Officer Hit by Car in Tottenham Chase
Attempted Murder Probe Launched
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a police officer was injured during a dramatic incident in Tottenham. The man is also suspected of possessing a firearm and is currently held at a north London police station.
Multiple Arrests Made
Alongside him, four young males aged between 17 and 19 have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. A 23-year-old woman faces charges of perverting the course of justice. All suspects remain in custody across London.
Officer Injured in White Hart Lane Incident
The chaos unfolded just after 11:30am on Tuesday, 29 October, when officers stopped a vehicle in White Hart Lane during an intelligence-led armed stop. The vehicle complied initially but then sped off, crashing into a firearms officer.
The officer was rushed to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and has since been discharged.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley said: “This was an extremely serious incident whereby the safety of the public, as well as the life of the police officer, was endangered. We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen this disturbing event.”
