Margate Murder Shock: Man Bludgeoned to Death in Flat

Kent Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was savagely bludgeoned to death in a Margate flat. Emergency services raced to a new build property on Sandhurst Place just after 2am on Saturday.

Screams Heard Before Armed Police Arrived

One resident reported hearing terrifying screams moments before armed police and ambulance crews stormed the scene. The victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the property.

Man Arrested, Police Hunt Murder Weapon

Officers swiftly arrested a suspect, who is known to the victim, on suspicion of murder. Specialist crime teams and search dogs have been scouring the nearby Aldi car park and surrounding areas for the murder weapon.

Kent Police Launch Serious Crime Probe

Kent Police was called to Sandhurst Place, Margate at 2am on Saturday 12 October 2019. A man in his 40s was declared deceased at the scene. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Both parties were known to each other,” a Kent Police spokesperson said.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have taken over the investigation. Officers remain at the scene as enquiries continue.
