A motorcyclist suffered life-changing injuries in a serious crash in Alton this morning. The man, riding a 125cc bike, slammed into a car near Hot Poles Pub on Butts Road.

Air Ambulance Scrambles After Alton Collision

With the Kent and Surrey helicopter busy on another call, the Thames Valley air ambulance was scrambled to airlift the injured rider to hospital. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where police have closed Butts Road at the Mount Pleasant Road junction to investigate.

Road Closure Hits Local Bus Services

Stagecoach issued warnings for commuters: the 08:30 38 bus is running 20 minutes late due to the road closure. Stops between Butts Road and the sports centre are not being served. Services will resume from Chawton onwards.
