Two young girls were rushed to hospital after a dramatic rescue at Ryde Beach. Stuart Hopkins and his friend, riding a jet ski, spotted the girls struggling near Harbour Rocks and sprang into action.
Rescuers Play Down Praise
Despite their brave efforts, Stuart shrugged off the hero title. “I was just in the right place at the right time,” he said modestly.
Grateful Mum Thanks Rescuers Publicly
One of the girls’ mums took to social media to express her gratitude. She wrote:
“My daughter and her friend got into difficulty today at Ryde Beach near the Harbour Rocks. I would like to say thank you to the two men on the red and white jet ski who rescued them and brought them back to shore. If anyone knows who these men were, please say a big thank you to them for saving our girls.”
