Murder Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead in Southall

A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body at a residential address in Southall.

Emergency services were called to Samara Drive at 10:56am on Wednesday, 23 April, after the London Ambulance Service raised concerns for the welfare of a man at the property. Upon arrival, officers found a man believed to be in his 60s, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the death is being treated as suspicious, and a 54-year-old man from Southall has been arrested on suspicion of murder and preventing a lawful burial. He currently remains in police custody.

Ongoing Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. In a statement, he said:

“We are in the very early stages of our investigation and my team of experienced detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the circumstances of this death.

“I can understand that this may be concerning for the community in Southall, who can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as we begin our investigation.”

Police are working to confirm the identity of the deceased and to notify his next of kin.
