Murder Probe Underway After Toddler Dies in Croydon

Detectives are hunting for answers after a three-year-old boy died under suspicious circumstances in Croydon. Alfie Lamb was found in cardiac arrest at his home on Adams Way on the evening of 1 February 2018. Despite emergency efforts, Alfie was pronounced dead three days later in a central London hospital.

Suspicious Death Shocks Croydon Community

Police say Alfie’s death is suspicious and launched a full homicide investigation. A post-mortem was carried out at St Thomas’ Hospital, with authorities still awaiting final results. The Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the probe.

Three Arrested – Charges Laid

On 28 February, three people were arrested in connection with Alfie’s death: two women aged 23 and 18, and a 25-year-old man. The 23-year-old woman faces charges including child ill-treatment and perverting the course of justice. The younger woman and the man were both charged with perverting the course of justice.

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding said: “Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances around Alfie’s tragic death. We urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.”
