Big Tobacco Bust in Harehills: Illicit Ciggies and Cannabis Seized

Trading Standards swooped on several off-licences in Harehills and uncovered a huge stash of illicit cigarettes. The illegal tobacco haul was seized on the spot, with officers determined to crack down on the black market trade.

Drugs Arrest as Police Strike

While searching one premises, police also found a large quantity of cannabis. East 1 Neighbourhood Policing Team sprang into action, arresting a man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the Class B drug. The probe is still live.

“We’ve been cracking down on Harehills for months, targeting anti-social behaviour, street drinking, drugs supply and dodgy businesses,” said Sergeant Porritt.

“Today’s raids were a big success, with a huge amount of illicit tobacco seized and drug dealers disrupted. We’re committed to clearing illegal goods from our streets and making the area safer.”
