Kent Fire and Rescue Called to Wrotham Road

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze at a property on Wrotham Road at 5:24pm. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene, arriving shortly before 5:50pm.

Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to bring the fire under control. The fire was located on the exterior of a conservatory.

One person was assessed at the scene for minor smoke inhalation, but no hospitalisation was required.

Cause Believed to Be Accidental

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed that the fire was accidental and is believed to have been caused by discarded smoking materials.

Fire Safety Reminder

Fire officers are reminding residents to properly dispose of cigarettes and smoking materials and to avoid placing them near combustible items, particularly during warmer months when exterior structures are more vulnerable to ignition.
