Shock Burglary in Romiley: Elderly Woman Attacked in Her Home
Police are hunting a man who broke into an 85-year-old woman’s home on Oakwood Road, Romiley, at around 7.30pm last Thursday (28 September). The offender physically assaulted the pensioner during the terrifying raid.
Victim Hurt but Stable
The elderly woman sustained injuries in the attack and is now receiving medical care. Thankfully, her wounds are not life-threatening. Meanwhile, the attacker – described as a roughly 5ft 11in male dressed in dark clothes – is still on the run.
Police Launch Manhunt
Detective Inspector Chris Aunins of Stockport CID spoke out about the “truly shocking” assault. He said: “Our thoughts are with the victim as she recovers from this terrible ordeal. Our priority is to keep the public safe and prevent any further serious incidents.”
Officers are following active leads and will boost patrols around Romiley to reassure residents and catch the culprit.
