Burglars Steal Diesel and Tools from Isle of Wight Work Site

Police are hunting crooks who broke into a work site container in Godshill, Isle of Wight, stealing diesel and valuable machinery.

Thieves Target Munsley Close Site

Between 11am on December 20 and midday on December 21, offenders forced entry to a container at Munsley Close. They made off with two cans of white diesel and expensive tools, including a Bomag vibrating plate and a Bomag BT60 tamper.

Investigators believe the thieves used a wheelbarrow to move the heavy kit, with a vehicle parked close by to help with the getaway.

Police Seek Dash Cam Footage and Witnesses

PC Timothy Campany of the Neighbourhood Policing Team urged locals to come forward. He said, “Did you drive past the site between 11am on December 20 and midday the next day? Check your dash cam footage. We need your help.”

Police also warn anyone offered plant machinery or diesel for sale to get in touch immediately.
