Man Dies After Jump from Tunbridge Wells Multi-Storey Car Park
Tragedy struck Tunbridge Wells this afternoon as police sealed off a multi-storey car park following a fatal incident. Just after 3pm on January 29, emergency services, including the Kent Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene after a man reportedly jumped from the top floor.
Huge Police Cordon Blocks Car Park and Nearby Roads
Officers have erected a large cordon around Calverley Grounds and Crescent Road, shutting down the car park to incoming vehicles. Drivers inside have been allowed to retrieve their cars, but no new vehicles can enter while the investigation is ongoing.
Crime Scene Officers Investigate as Public Held Back
Scene of Crime Officers are still at the site, with a green sheet shielding the tragic scene. Police have kept onlookers and members of the public at a distance to maintain order.
Kent Police Confirm Details of Incident
“We were called at 2.55pm on Wednesday 29 January 2020 after reports that a man had fallen from Crescent Road Car Park, Tunbridge Wells. Officers are currently at the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service,” said a Kent Police spokesperson.
Monson Road near the car park remains heavily patrolled by police as investigations continue. The multi-storey car park remains closed pending further enquiries.
