Early Morning Stabbing Shakes Croydon – One Arrested
Chaos at St James Road and Lansdowne Road
Just before 7 a.m. on Saturday, emergency crews rushed to reports of a knife attack in Croydon. Police quickly sealed off both sides of the busy junction at St James Road and Lansdowne Road, sparking major disruption.
Buses Diverted Amid Police Investigation
Officers set up tight cordons while local bus route 289 was forced to take alternative routes. The scene remains locked down as detectives dig into what led to the violent confrontation.
Three Men Injured, One Stabbed Seriously
The Met Police confirmed the assault happened around 6:40 a.m. Upon arrival, officers and the London Ambulance Service found three men injured – two with stab wounds and one physically assaulted.
All were rushed to hospital. Two victims are stable with non-life-threatening injuries. The condition of the third man remains unknown.
Suspect in Custody, Enquiries Ongoing
One male suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). Police continue to investigate the attack.
“Officers were called just before 7 a.m. We are appealing to anyone with information to come forward,” a Met Police spokesman said.
