Police Get Extra Time to Question Man Over Southampton Murder

Detectives probing the brutal killing of Michael Freshwater in Southampton have secured more time to grill a 26-year-old suspect. The man, also from Southampton, was grabbed on suspicion of murder on Saturday, April 30.

Extended Questioning Window

Officers were initially set to wrap up questioning by this Monday evening, May 2, but have now been granted an extension to keep the suspect in custody and dig deeper into the case.

Second Man Released

A second man, aged 35 and also from Southampton, was arrested but has since been released without charge.
