Body Found by Brentwood Roadside Sparks Police Probe

Man in 30s Found Dead in Early Morning Discovery

Essex Police launched an investigation after a man’s body was found by the roadside in Brentwood. Officers were called to Lincolns Lane in Pilgrims Hatch at 5:45am on Wednesday, March 19, following reports of the grim discovery. The victim, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police cordon remains in place as enquiries continue to uncover how the man came to be there.

Not Treated as Murder – Yet

Police have confirmed the death is not currently being treated as murder. Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood reassured the community:

“I would like to reassure the community that this is not a murder investigation, but rather an investigation into how, sadly, this man came to be found at the roadside. We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the facts of this case, particularly around the circumstances in which this man died.”

Police Appeal for Dashcam and Doorbell Footage

Officers are urgently appealing for anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage from Lincolns Lane or Coxtie Green Road on the evening of Tuesday, March 18, and the early hours of Wednesday, March 19, to come forward.

“While I know this incident will be shocking for the community, I ask those locally to think carefully about anything they may have seen or heard around Lincolns Lane during that time. Footage showing people or vehicles could be crucial,” added DCI Wood.

An online portal has been set up to securely submit any footage or information. Police also warn against speculation on social media as the investigation continues.
