Police Launch Murder Invesigation in Fareham

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have launched a murder investigation in Fareham after a man’s body was found at a flat on Omaha Close, Fareham. Officers received a concern for welfare call shortly before 12:40pm on Monday 20 August. Officers subsequently attended the flat and discovered the 29 year-old man’s body. He appeared to have injuries to his back and enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened to him. Specialist officers have informed the man’s family and are providing support to them. Police will be carrying out enquiries at Omaha Close throughout the day and anyone with any concerns can speak to one of our uniformed officers who will be patrolling the area. Fareham District Commander, Chief Inspector Sharon Woolrich said: “The investigation team are following up a number of active lines of enquiry and I would encourage anyone with information which could help to contact us. “I know there may be some concern among the wider Fareham community about this incident.
