High-Speed Chase Ends in Dramatic Catch on White Hart Lane!
Stolen Bike Leads to Hair-Raising Pursuit
At 4.10pm on Tuesday, 4 February, Met police from Operation Venice Command teamed up with local North Area BCU officers on White Hart Lane. Their sharp eyes spotted a suspicious motorbike that immediately zoomed off, refusing to stop for marked police motorcycles.
False Plates and Fast Escape
The bike wasn’t just dodging cops – it was stolen back in December 2019 from Hertfordshire and flaunted a fake registration plate. Officers on Operation 1 motorcycles gave chase, trailing the rider all the way to Wood Green High Road.
Tactical Tackle Brings Chase to a Close
Police called in a Venice TPAC vehicle, using a bold tactical contact manoeuvre to halt the runaway bike in its tracks. The rider bailed, darting into Wood Green Shopping Centre on foot. But no escape – officers caught up with him after a brief foot pursuit and pinned him down in the second-floor car park.
Arrest Made; Hospital Precaution
The man, in his 20s, was arrested on multiple charges: theft of a motorcycle, dangerous driving/riding, failing to stop, possession with intent to supply class B drugs, and driving while disqualified. He was taken to hospital as a precaution but remains in police custody.
