Armed Police Raid Bexleyheath Marriott Over Firearm Scare

At 7.30pm on Tuesday, armed cops stormed the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath, a swanky spot charging £140 a night.

Man Arrested Over Suspected Gun

A man was hauled into custody from a guest room on suspicion of possessing a firearm. The Met confirmed officers were called to reports of a gun inside the hotel on Broadway.

Armed officers responded due to the nature of the incident,” a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

“There were no reported injuries. There is no greater danger to the public.”

“The investigation into the circumstances is still ongoing.”

No Casualties, Ambulance Stand Down

The London Ambulance Service said they were stood down as no casualties were reported at the scene.

The Marriott Bexleyheath declined to comment on the police action.
