Firearm Incident Sparks Major Police Response

Kent Police have slammed a road into lockdown following reports of a gun in the Cobham Close area off Bean Road, Greenhithe. Armed officers rushed to the scene, sealing off the road as the drama unfolded.

Distressed Man Taken to Hospital

The emergency call came in at 11:40am this morning (Friday, May 25). Police raced to a property within Cobham Close after reports of a man with a firearm. A distressed man was taken to hospital as a precaution while officers searched the premises.

It Was an Imitation Gun

After scouring the property, police found an imitation firearm, not a real gun. A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 11.41am on Friday May 25, 2018 to a report of a distressed man inside a property in 1 Terrace, Greenhithe. Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
