Two Men Stabbed on 54 Bus in Catford: Both in Stable Condition

Two men were stabbed onboard a 54 bus in Rushey Green, Catford, on Tuesday afternoon (July 1). Police confirmed both victims remain in hospital in stable condition.

Knife Attack Sparks Major Police Response

The brutal knife assault happened just before 1:43pm, triggering a full emergency response. Officers quickly cordoned off Rushey Green as they launched an on-scene investigation.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“The two victims, both 123 custody.”

Witnesses Describe Chaos on Bus

Eyewitnesses told reporters the stabbing took place as passengers were boarding and travelling along Rushey Green. The attack happened onboard the 54 bus, which was later seen inside the police cordon.

Police have yet to reveal the age or identity of the suspect in custody.

The Met’s investigation is ongoing. Officers are urging anyone who saw the incident or has footage—especially bus passengers or bystanders near the Rushey Green and Benton Road area—to come forward.
